Team workouts are special, if ever possible I like to have two teams go against each other to really put some pressure on and to see how people work together. i love to encourage a degree of communication and honesty as well and try to design a structure that rewards it. the fun piece with this one is attaching reps to how long it takes you (1 burpee in the first minute, 2 in the second, 20 in the 20th, etc) as a bait to go hard in the beginning but also to get people thinking about communicating with each other and strategizing trade-offs and positional switches. all in all - a pretty fun structure.

5k ski

One player skis while one other player holds an awkward object (we used a 10’ slosh pipe in zercher hold) 

Skiing can only be done while the object is lifted, every switch the person who is neither skiing nor holding must do the same number of burpees as the minute in which the switch occurred (before the 1:00 mark, 1 burpee. from 1:00-1:59 - 2 burpees, 2:00-2.59 – 3 burpees, etc) players can switch whenever they like, but if the object is dropped everyone has to switch. 

Flow

It’s “player’s choice” how this one gets done, we chose to ski-hold-burpee. if/when the weight is dropped and the player isn’t done doing their burpees yet, two people can be working on their burpees at the same time, but skiing can only be done while the object is being held. 

modifications

Increase burpees every other minute: 2-1:59 – 1 burpee, 2:00-3:59 – 2 burpees, etc

Everyone does burpees: on switch every player does burpees. this can be attached to every minute, every few minutes, or with every switch (1 burpee for the first switch, 2 burpees for the second, etc) 

solo: hold - ski for equal time - add 1x burpee per switch
